Product Details
Black maca is one of the three colors of Lepidium meyenii Walp. and the rarest: about 10–15% of the harvest. Maca grows in the central Andes of Peru between 4,000 and 5,500 meters; ours comes from the Junín plateau, at about 4,200 meters.
The roots are selected after sun-drying, then washed, dried with hot air, milled to 80 mesh and sieved. Nothing is added: no preservatives, colors or flavors, and the powder is not irradiated. We mill finer on request, up to 200 mesh, and black maca is also available gelatinized.
Each lot ships with its certificate of analysis, and the full specification sheet is available on request.
